    We are located at 401 Madras Street, Christchurch Central.

    Parking
    You can enter our carpark from Madras Street; turn left just before the lights on Bealey Avenue. We have a drop off area at the front entrance for patients who may require this.

    Public Transport
    You can plan your bus trip from the Journey Planner on the Metro website.

    Accessibility
    We have wheelchair parking and an accessibility ramp. Wheelchairs are available if you need them. We also have an interpreter service available.

Become a Pegasus Health member

We welcome Pegasus Health practice GP principals, associates, and locums to become Pegasus members.

Individual membership options

All applicants must be approved as a shareholder by the Board of Directors of Pegasus Health (Charitable) Ltd and Pegasus membership. Once approved, the general practitioner (GP) member becomes a shareholder of Pegasus membership at a cost of $826.00.

Full agreement

  • GP partner - business owner or GP associate, works regular sessions but not part of ownership.
  • Must be vocationally registered (if not, membership would be provisional until completed).

Locum agreement

  • GP locum provides services in place of a regular GP and doesn't work at the same time as the enrolling GP.
  • Must be vocationally registered (if not, membership would be provisional until completed).

Life agreement

  • An individual who was formerly a GP member for at least ten years.
  • No longer meets GP member criteria.
  • Invited to become a life member by Pegasus Membership at its' discretion.

Affiliate agreement

  • GP specialist that does not provide GP specific services.
  • No longer meets GP member criteria.
  • Must have been a practicing GP for at least five years.

Membership benefits

Access to:

  • Contracts for service/funding with the Primary Health Organisation (PHO) and other funders.
  • The discount scheme and subsidies which are available for a wide range of products and services.
  • A range of services through the Canterbury Employers Chamber of Commerce (CECC).
  • The member care package which provides three free counselling sessions with a counsellor of your choice.
  • Technical support for practices including access to the internet service provider and server hosted by Pegasus, along with access to virus protection, software, and a secure mechanism for the transfer of data files and claims.
  • A wealth of information on Wā Kāinga (member portal), relating to a range of practice support functions such as funding streams, capitation, register management, claims etc.
  • Access to small group education to maintain professional development and a requirement for members to attend at least three sessions per year.
  • Voting participation for full members, in general meetings and the annual general meeting.

How to become a member

Note: If a GP is the first in their practice to apply to become a member and the practice is not currently a Pegasus practice, then the practice will undergo a practice/premises report at the time of the applicant interview. Once approved, the practice is entitled to installation of and access to the internet service provider and server hosted by Pegasus, along with access to virus protection, software and a secure mechanism for the transfer of data files and claims.

Step 1

GPs who are interested in becoming members should contact our membership coordinator for an application form.

Step 2

Once your application and the required supporting documents and contracts is received, the next step is for one of our Membership Committee members to contact you to arrange an interview and complete a practitioner profile.

Once the interview and practitioner profile is complete and all the other committee members are in agreement, your application is put to the Pegasus Health Board to approve.

Step 4

Upon Board approval, you will receive a letter of acceptance, along with a shares transfer form. Once we have received your Share payment and completed Shares Transfer form, your membership is finalised and your counter signed contracts are returned to you for reference.
